What is Camp Defiance? |

Camp Defiance is a place where gamers can meet and enjoy playing PC and consoles games with friends and family in a safe and secure environment. Camp Defiance emphasizes the social aspects of multi-player games.

What is a Gaming Center?
|
|
It is a business where people use a computer or console connected over a LAN (network) to other computers, primarily for the purpose of playing multiplayer computer games. Use of these computers or game consoles costs a fee, usually per hour or minute. Gaming centers will usually keep in stock the most up to date games and equipment. Gamers can play games with (or against) in-house opponents and most also include a high-speed Internet connection to allow gamers to play games with online opponents as well (usually at the same time). Most also host a number of special events such as tournaments and LAN parties, some lasting throughout the night. Another typical feature is the ability to browse the Web and use instant messaging clients. Often these gaming centers allow customers the option of renting out the whole or part of the store for private LAN parties.

What is iGames and ESRB?

As an iGames member LAN center, Camp Defiance follows the movie theater model by being a showcase venue for the latest games. We offer the opportunity for players and their families to not only play in a social atmosphere but also "try before they buy." Therefore we follow the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) system.
ESRB, or Entertainment Software Rating Board, is a non-profit, self-regulatory body that independently assigns ratings, enforces advertising guidelines, and helps ensure responsible online privacy practices for the interactive entertainment software industry. Can I limit what my child plays?

Absolutely! As a member, we can allow parents to limit which games their kids can and cannot play. As an additional parent's guide, visit our Game List section to view the ESRB ratings and a description of each game.
